Event Details

" ISPE NJ CHAPTER DAY " The NJ Chapter of ISPE is proud to present a day of symposia on various topics including several talks regarding standards followed by the pharmaceutical industry. New Developments in the ASME BPE Standard are presented by Rich Zinkowski, and Phil DeSantis describes Good Engineering Practices at Schering. The basics of the JETT Consortium regarding GMP Equipment/Controls Specification are given, as are the Rules and Regulations Covering Compounding Facilities (by Jim Wagner of Controlled Environment Consulting). The Application of Risk Management Principles to Water System Design is defined by Joe Manfredi of GMP Systems.

Some nonGMP topics include NJDEP Rules Updates (Viridian Inc.-Environmental Consultants), Dust Collection (JOA America), and Energy Conservation Considerations in Our Industry (Dome Tech), Perception of Our Industry by the Public is related by Peter Claude of Price Waterhouse.

Several overviews of latest industry trends are offered including an Update on New Design and Construction Developments by Bruce Eckman of Torcon, Inc, Bioprocess Facility & Equipment Design with Disposables by Dave Marks of DME Alliance, and Bioprocess Disposables by Bob Morgan of Laureate Pharma. Also Bruce Smith of Waukesha, teaches about Material Finishes in the Pharma Industry, and Scott Smith of Energy Options teaches the Basics of Psychrometric Design in HVAC System Design. Claude Lochhead of SNC-Lavalin Pharma, offers a discussion of Complex Projects-A New Approach to Management and Cliff Safron of KPMG will speak about Enterprise Risk Management.

Event Details:

  • Registration at the Holiday Inn begins at 8:30 am. Pre-Registration is strongly recommended, as space is limited for sessions.


  • Lunch will be served buffet style from 12:00–1:00 and refreshments will be available throughout the day.


  • Cocktails and hors d’oeuvres from 5:00 – 6:00 p.m. (Cash Bar)
